Where: Coolangatta, Gold Coast
When: Wednesday 9 June to Sunday 13 June
About: From vintage cars and bikes, music, outfits and even food, the beachside streets of Coolangatta on the Gold Coast come alive with the magic of yesteryear at Cooly Rocks On.
What: Gulf Western Oil Winternationals
Where: Willowbank Raceway, Champions Way, Willowbank
When: Thursday 10 June to Sunday 13 June
About: From junior dragsters to 500 kph top fuelers, more than 500 cars and motorcycles from all over the country are expected to be on track over four big days of racing.
Friday 11 June
What: Test ‘N Drive Lakeside
Where: Lakeside Park Queensland Raceways, Lakeside Road, Kurwongbah
When: 9:30am to 4:30pm
About: Although not an event as such, this open day is for revheads to actually test and drive as much or as little as they like, with both registered and unregistered vehicles welcome.
What: Munch Inn Show ‘N Shine
Where: Acacia Ridge Shopping Centre, 28 Elizabeth Street, Acacia Ridge
When: 4:00pm to 9:00pm
About: Hosted by the Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club, come on down and check out some of the best classic and vintage cars of yesteryear at their best.
Saturday 12 June
What: Happy Laps
Where: Lakeside Park Queensland Raceways, Lakeside Road, Kurwongbah
When: 7:00am to 9:00am
About: Although not exactly a race or a rally, explore the loops and drives at Lakeside Park as you cruise around the track.
What: Willowbank Rally Day
Where: Ipswich Motorsports Precinct, Champions Way, Willowbank
When: 7:30am to 3:30pm
About: The venue is a clay dirt track which is suitable for road going cars as well as fully prepped rally cars! All vehicles are welcome, including registered and unregistered cars.
What: Cars & Coffee Morayfield
Where: Lisa’s Willow Tree Cafe, 140 Morayfield Road, Caboolture South
When: 8:00am to 10:00am
About: As an SIV sanctioned event for Club registered cars through the All British Classics Car Club Qld Inc, take your pride and joy out for a spin or just come for the coffee.
What: Down Under BeachFest
Where: Caloundra Hotel, Bulcock Street, Caloundra
When: 10:00am to 8:30pm
About: This all day event by the beach will be host to a pin up pageant, live music, and of course, a vintage and classic car show.
What: Supercars At Sunset
Where: Helensvale Homeworld, 502 Hope Island Road, Helensvale
When: 4:00pm to 6:00pm
About: This inaugural car show will be raising money for “Give Me 5 For Kids”, so come down and check out the Ferraris, McLarens, Aston Martins, and even Lamborghinis.
What: All Wheels A Go
Where: Hungry Jacks, Wynnum Plaza 2021 Wynnum Road, Wynnum West
When: 5:00pm to 9:00pm

What: Cars, Bikes and Coffee

When: 8:30am to 10:30am
About: Escape the city with your fellow automotive and bike enthusiasts for a morning of coffee and chinwags by the river.
What: RACQ Motorfest
Where: Brisbane Showgrounds, 600 Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills
When: 10:00am to 3:00pm
About: The day features entertainment, market stalls, rides, food stalls and an array of vintage, unique and collector vehicles, as well as the latest in vehicle and transport technology.
What: Yank Tanks
Where: 102 Pimpama Jacobs Well Road, Pimpama
When: 6:00pm to 8:00pm
About: As a static display of special interest and classic cars, entry is via a $2 gold coin donation with proceeds going to the local volunteer fire service.
The very best part about many of the Brisbane and Gold Coast based car events on this weekend is that the hosts welcome the general public, as opposed to making them exclusive for club members only. The idea is that engine enthusiasts generally want to share their passion, especially when it comes to sparking an interest in cars for the next generation.
